The Constant

Everything is always changing; the weather, circumstances, moods, situations, culture, health. It seams that as soon as I get used to something or adapt to a certain thing in my life, something happens that changes everything. Sometimes the change brings extreme frustration, confusion, and anxiety. Sometimes it brings excitement, clarity and comfort. Either way, change seems to be the constant.

Or is it?

This week, the word “constant” has been at the forefront of my mind and heavy on my heart. After watching some news tonight, I thought to myself, “this world is crazy. It’s constantly changing.” And there it was; the sweet whisper of the Father. “Everything changes but I am the constant.” What a statement. What a promise. No matter what changes come our way, Jesus is the constant.

“Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful (constant) in all he does.”
